‘‘ In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is to Allah, who granted victory to His servant, honored His soldiers, and alone defeated the confederates. Blessings and peace be upon His Prophet, His chosen one, His beloved, His trustee, and His proof, Abul Qasim Muhammad ibn Abdullah, and upon his pure and selected progeny, especially the Vicegerent of Allah on the earth.
Allah, the Exalted, says regarding the virtue of knowledge and the learned: “Are those who know equal to those who do not?” (Quran, 39:9). Knowledge holds an exalted status, a high position unmatched by anything in the world. It was through knowledge that Adam was preferred over the angels. The status of knowledge and scholars is mentioned in numerous places in the Holy Quran, including the first revelation where Allah addressed His beloved Prophet: “Read in the name of your Lord who created, created man from a clot. Read, and your Lord is the Most Generous, who taught by the pen, taught man that which he knew not.” (Quran, 96:1-5).
Knowledge is the sign and measure of the life of nations. Through knowledge, man learns life’s lessons to organize them according to the demands of the time and the needs of the era. In the modern age, due to its development and expansion, knowledge can only be acquired comprehensively in universities, seminaries (Hawzat), and educational institutes. Today, the university is the entity qualified to fulfill the requirements of this age. In truth, merely acquiring knowledge is insufficient; people must benefit from it and use it to benefit others. However, the knowledge taught in most current universities does not benefit people because their curricula lack religious guidance, the promotion of piety, and spiritual purification, thus making their benefit minimal.
As narrated from Imam al-Kadhim (peace be upon him), Luqman said to his son: “O my son, the world is a deep ocean in which many have drowned. So, let your ship in it be the fear of Allah, its cargo be faith, its sail be trust in Allah, its captain be intellect, its guide be knowledge, and its crew be patience.”
Based on this, the Founder and President of “Minhaj ul Hussain Foundation,” His Eminence Sheikh al-Allamah Dr. Muhammad Hussain Akbar (may his honor endure), with the help of well-wishers, established a leading Islamic institution in this field named “Minhaj ul Hussain Foundation.” By the grace of Allah, this leading foundation was established on the 17th of Rabi al-Awwal, 1411 AH, corresponding to October 18, 1990.’’
Objectives:
To inaugurate colleges and educational institutions affiliated with “Jamia Minhaj ul Hussain” and “Jamia Zainabia” to generate an intellectual revolution in the Muslim world and unite them. By Allah’s grace, we have completed some stages in this regard.
To establish a strong, effective, and continuous link between governmental universities and religious institutions to confront contemporary challenges and their demands in the field of action.
To focus on the integration of religious and modern education through modern means and to prepare pious and competent researchers and preachers.
To disseminate Islamic teachings and laws through modern means.
To build a faithful society in the light of the Holy Quran and the traditions of the Infallible Imams (peace be upon them) and to strive for the implementation of Islamic laws in Pakistan.
- To propagate Islamic thoughts and Hussaini congregations (Majalis) through writing, oratory, internet, and television, and to preserve our sacred relics and the symbols of Islam and Hussaini rituals.
- To focus on sending male and female preachers to various countries around the world to spread the thoughts of the revolution of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and its objectives.
- To strive practically for Islamic unity and to establish links between different schools of thought and religions on a global level.
- To have direct communications with the leaders of Islamic and intellectual organizations to achieve the desired goals.
- To provide financial assistance to the poor, needy, orphans, and widows in various aspects of life.
